Blackmagic ATEM Camera Converter is designed to extend your broadcast SDI or HDMI cameras connections via low cost optical fiber; specifically where live production studios or events demand longer distances between your camera and production switcher e.g. sporting venues, race tracks or concert halls.

Broadcast and consumer connections
ATEM Camera Converter connects to both HDMI an SDI video cameras with both video and audio embedded into the optical fibre output, and microphone inputs are included for the ultimate in audio flexibility. Perfect when you need higher quality or wireless microphones on your cameras. The return optical fibre input can be used for a program feed from your switcher and is converted to the SDI and HDMI outputs. You can switch the SDI and HDMI outputs between program or camera feed with the push of a button.

Includes Talkback
in live production its critical for your camera operators to talk to the switcher operator so you can work as a team. ATEM Camera Converter includes talkback using low cost PC headphones, so each camera can communicate with the director at the switcher. ATAM Camera Converter talkback works by embedding the microphone audio into channels 15 and 16 of the camera optical fibre input on the headphones.

Optical fibre link
Low cost and easily sourced optical fibre is perfect for connection for the ATEM Camera Converter. Using a single mode optical fibre pair with LC type connectors you get the freedom to connect you camera up to 147,000ft or 45KM from your switcher – totally blowing away the 300ft limitation of SDI cable, so you can place cameras close to the action.

Battery or AC powered
ATEM Camera Converter includes a standard 12V input that supports operation up to 30V DC. That lets you use a wide range of power sources or even a car battery! You get a built in bettery that lasts for ours and is recharged when plugged into a power supply – the 12v power connection uses a standard connector, so replacement 12v power supply cables are easy to replace if lost or damaged. If your power supply to the ATEM Camera Converter at the event should fail the internal battery will be automatically used to keep the ATEM Camera Converter operating.
